Last week, I completely forgot to draw and post a card. The card this week is from the Guardian Angel Cards by Toni Carmine Salerno.
At this very moment, you are sowing the seeds of your future through your thoughts, feelings, beliefs and attitudes. Whether through love, fear or indifference you are always creating something, so remember to keep your thoughts, beliefs and attitudes positive and you will create a positive outcome.
While a good many of you reading this may be thinking that it is too difficult or impossible to keep your thoughts, beliefs and attitudes positive- notice that this card didn’t say that it had to be always. This is where the recognition of our humanity comes in. We all have times when we feel doubt, fear or negativity. I believe that the point is how long we stay in that space.
Our predominant thought and belief pattern has a lot to do with how events in our lives play out. Let’s imagine only one day in someone’s life and picture this scenario:
When this person gets out of bed, they stub their toe, and it really hurts. Instead of just acknowledging the pain, maybe even swearing and going about their day, they think to themselves “today is going to suck”. So, they grumpily make their way into the kitchen to have a cup of coffee. In their distraction of thoughts of how bad the day is going to be, they spill coffee down their shirt and have to go change it. On the way up the stairs, they think of how they are going to have to figure out what shirt will go with the rest of their outfit as well as the one they have on now and that they’ll probably be late. Even more grumpy now, it takes a long time to find a shirt that suits them because their mood has deteriorated rapidly, so they are in fact late.
I could go on, but there is no need. The example I think, points to what this card is getting at. You could see it differently and that’s perfectly fine. In my opinion, to deny our human feelings is a disservice but to wallow in the negative ones does tend to spawn more negativity. When you find yourself experiencing thoughts and feelings which are unpleasant, do your best to find a way to acknowledge and process it, then allow yourself to move on from it. We have a lot more power to decide what the world looks and feels like than we realize.
