#NaPoWriMo – Day 11 ~ Abstract Ending

The prompt at NaPoWriMo today is to write a poem which closely describes something, and end it with a line that seemingly has nothing to do with the rest of the poem but really does.

Looking out my window into the gentle morning sunlight

Watching the city slowly waking up after a long night’s slumber

As rays of gold tickle fresh green leaves, coming out to greet Spring

The smell of coffee reaches my nose and the birds sing a wake-up song

Everything looks so alive and full of energy on mornings like this

The flowers are blooming, just begging me to come out for a dance

I sit here clacking away at the keyboard.

  1. A beautiful piece Tracy. I could feel the day you were describing perhaps because our days out this way are very similar. So happy the sunshine and warm temps have returned, and so very thankful that I no longer live in the east!

    • Thank you my friend! Makes two of us on the warm weather and sunshine! Living in the western part of North Carolina means much milder and shorter Winters than I’m used to and I love it! Hope you’re doing well ā¤
