The optional prompt at NaPoWriMo today is to write a poem about flowers.
The Garden’s Love Match
While a rose has earned her place in the finest of gardens and bouquets
The luscious fullness of hydrangeas and peonies make this heart flutter
Never has a suitor shown up to my door holding this mix of joyful beauty
If one ever does, it shall be my sign that the Universe was listening
My deepest self finally met with a kindred spirit who shares my love
Of simplicity which surpasses the most profanely ornate displays in elegance
Throw in a daisy or two and the stars will have aligned to hand deliver a dream
While any old daisy from the field would do, a certain kind would be irrefutable proof
That at last, my love has come along and the impossible dream wasn’t so impossible
This very special daisy that would be the icing on the cake?
Well, this detail shall remain between myself, the Universe, and the impossible dreamboat
