Art Moves On

I’m pleased to say that I wrote and submitted two pieces for publication today. Who knows what the result will be, but you can’t get published if you don’t try. It was an odd mix of genres on the writing. I did a poem for Valentine’s Day for a greeting card company, followed by a little piece of macabre short fiction. Talk about a quick switch of gears.

I’ve also been busy painting over the past few days. I don’t have any pieces finished right now, but I’m working on it.

Below are a few pictures of the progress on the art pieces:

Okay...I fibbed. There is one completed piece. This one I call 'Coming Up Roses'

This is still early stages and the dolphins are in rough form...I'm a bit nervous about this piece because I've never done dolphins before. This was a special request piece and I'm hoping I don't have to whip out the gesso. :)

I posted two of these squares last week, but I've given those two another coat and prepped the third.

A little wooden tray that I found and am recycling. Not entirely sure what this will be yet. So far though, I'm liking the base colors.

  1. Love, love, LOVE that rose, it’s beautiful. I can’t stop staring at it. I think the dolphins look great (no need for gesso) and those little colourful blocks are captivating! Good work my lovely friend x
