NaPoWriMo Day 30 ~ Farewell But Not Goodbye

The prompt for our final day of NaPoWriMo is to write a poem of farewell. This has been a fantastic 30 days of challenging the mind, pouring out the heart, and getting to discover some very talented fellow poets. This is my second year participating in NaPoWriMo. Last year I had intended to keep up with poetry after it was over, but I didn’t do too well with that resolution. Let’s hope that I do better this time around.

There were days when I felt that I couldn’t keep up
Like my cup was overflowing things to do right onto my lap
As time went by, my morning poem became a therapeutic start to the day
And now just as the groove gets good, we close for another year
While I’m sad to see the end of another April
My mind rejoices for a time of respite from the daily challenge
Of the scramble to write before the rest of the day closes in
Parting is such sweet sorrow, but we must move on
So I’ll bid you farewell, but not goodbye
