NaPoWriMo Day 19 ~ Inspired By Sea Shells

Today’s prompt at NaPoWriMo is to write a poem inspired by one or more far out names of one or more sea shells that are listed on the site. It is not necessary for the poem to be about said sea shells…just that it is inspired by one or more of the names.

My choice in the list on the site is:

Unequal Bittersweet

Memories shrouded in a hazy mixture of love and regret
There are times when the salt of my tears clashes with the smile on my lips
When remembering the magical days we stole from the hands of time
Spent in a cocoon filled with laughter and passion in each other’s arms
All the while knowing that the end was drawing nigh
That soon enough your warmth and presence would be a mere memory
Imprinted forever, leaving behind an unequal bittersweet taste
Was it all but an impossible dream?
Perhaps, yet as a great man once said
It always seems impossible until it is done
