Knitting Fun

Sure hope that all of you had a lovely Thanksgiving! It was really great here. My sister and brother in law came over. We visited, played a game, and ate a good meal together. It was a day to be thankful for another opportunity to be together and share a day of the company and love of family. There is something else that I wish to share with all of you…something I’ve been keeping under my hat until I was sure that it was going to last. Today makes my ninth day as a non-smoker! It’s something which I’ve been wanting to do for quite some time and have finally managed to make happen. No it isn’t easy, but I’m so happy about it and am determined to make it stick…for so many reasons.

Below are some photos of my latest knitting projects. I’ve been quite busy with the needles, but it still seems as though I will run out of time before I get around to all of the things I would like to have completed in time for the holidays. We’ll see how it goes!

The Silver Bullet and Blood head scarf from the book ‘Vampire Knits’ finally done!
Work in progress Toasty Twisty Scarf~ pattern found on Ravelry.com

Knit in the round hat that I made up

Variation of above hat with ear flaps and i-cord

I’m going to work more on the hat thing. Since I made these patterns up myself, I’m going to have to do my homework to find out how to make a smoother top on them. It isn’t that I do not like these hats, it’s just that I would prefer less gathering on the crowns. Once I figure out how to do this and make one, I’ll be posting pics! Have a great weekend.

  1. The later part of each month I try to stop by some new blog and I came over from caffeinateddive blogI have to say I've never learn to knit and my grandmother knit all of our baby blanket and I still have mine. I real have to admit I real haven't done much yarn crafts a little bit of crocheting way back when. Like around high school. If you fine a few minutes stop on in for some coffee.

  2. Hi Dora! Thanks for coming by. I love Rae's blog. She's a lot of fun. Up until a few years ago I was not a crafty person at all but now find myself addicted to sticks and string. I'll definitely come by and check out your blog. Hope to see you here again sometime. πŸ™‚
