Mini Meditation Workshop

Well everyone, today is the big day for the first major post in the new schedule. I have to admit that I am excited to offer a Mini Meditation Workshop, which has been a while in the making. Over the past few years I’ve had several people request that I publish something like this and it pleases me to finally have written it. The workshop is compact but filled with general meditation information, as well as a meditation exercise which I’ve written especially for this workshop. It’s a meditation which I have been personally using for years and I hope that it brings you as many benefits as it has brought me.

At the end of the workshop are some questions I’ve written to help you to overcome some obstacles frequently encountered with meditation, as well as some physical pointers to help you on your way. If you have any questions which you would like answers to about meditation, whether general in nature or something which pops up for you individually, please feel free to ask them here through a comment…or use the email address provided in the second box in the right sidebar if you do not wish to ask the question publicly.

Okay, now for the good stuff. Here is a link for you to go and grab your free copy:

I hope that this mini workshop is helpful for you! Feel free to share the link with whomever you please.

  1. Thanks Gossip Girl. My best friend has been telling me about LuLu for almost two years and this is the first time that I actually checked it out in any detail. It's a nice place to host something like this. 🙂

  2. I was pleased with how easy it is to use. I wanted to make the meditation workshop printable and being able to host it at Lulu is fantastic. As far as other work goes…especially the fiction work…yes it is good for self publishing, but I do not know that I would try that route at least initially with fiction. Would you?

  3. How did I miss this earlier this week????? Anywho, I've never been able to quiet my mind to meditate. I had lots of people try and teach me when I lived in the Bay Area but I just can't seem to quiet my mind.

  4. Hi JoJo! I'm glad you stopped by. Have you tried a mantra? Some people are able to have success with mental chatter when they have a focused phrase and keep repeating it either mentally or even aloud. By focused phrase, I mean something which has nothing to do with issues weighing on your mind…it could be a phrase like…'I feel myself at peace'. Others really benefit from music or drumming. Drumming is helpful to me when I am feeling unable to still my mind because it has that rhythmic repetition. Sometimes I can almost lose myself, for lack of better words. Maybe you could find a nice piece of rhythmic drumming and try listening to it and feeling it, allowing your body to become involved too, without the intention of meditating just to see if you could become totally immersed in the sound and rhythm of it? Maybe you've already tried all of that. See if you can figure out something that you do in normal, waking life which totally absorbs you and try incorporating that into meditation time somehow. Having some thoughts going through the mind is a normal thing too. In my early days of meditating, it took quite some time for me to get to the point of acknowledging and releasing thoughts instead of letting them disrupt me. Hope something sparks an idea for you.
